Inside Marmomac 2025: The Future of Stone Is Here
This year at Marmomac, we saw professionals in the fields of stone, construction, and architecture & design flocking to Verona en masse. Our Managing Director Pierre Sullivan was there, taking the pulse on the global Stone sector – and of course, seeing new technology unveiled in person. Here’s what he has to say about the experience.
The pulse on Marmomac
Robotics and AI are on everyone’s lips these days; and Marmomac only emphasised the global transformation. Suppliers like CMS are coming out with increasingly more sophisticated solutions that incorporate these innovations, pushing the limits on what’s possible in the workshop.
Sustainability is another big theme, with awareness around energy usage and manufacturing methodologies growing. The push for stonemasons to comply with new regulatory measures in the EU is also on the rise; leading many to invest in less resource-intensive solutions like those from Italmecc.
That’s the sweep on themes discussed at Marmomc this year, Now, without further ado, we’ll dig into the technology unveiled at the show.
The new CMS Brembana Kosmos
The new CMS Kosmos was a magnet for attention at the show. Improving on the original Kosmos, this updated version is designed for fast, easy installation, as well as more sophisticated control over manufacturing. Three other machine upgrades were featured; namely, the Maxima, Electa, and Kartesia.

Bovone
Bovone’s new STONEDGE 9+1 polishing/edging machine made it’s debut at Marmomac this year. This machine is designed for large ceramic slabs intended for kitchen countertops, making the finishing process faster and more efficient.
Italmecc
A focus on sustainability in manufacturing has put Italmecc’s water clarifying solutions in the spotlight. While EU compliance with sustainability standards is becoming manfatory by 2027, Australia is not far behind. With the new Building Code detailing several low-carbon changes. Italmecc solutions perfectly align with these changes; minimising both fresh water use and overall production costs.
The Round Up
The world is buzzing about robotics and AI in manufacturing, which are becoming more and more prevalent in the Stone sector. Customers are seeing an increased need for speed using automated tools, while also making the overall production process less resource and energy-intensive. This has led to a push for decision-makers to look at the big-picture process and strategise for the future; charting the path for success in the long-term.
CNC machines are also growing in sophistication; fusing AI elements with mechanical excellence for greater automation and data collection.
We are seeing more need for future-proofing efforts across the board – and with technology seeming to speed up time, fast and accurate insights are invaluable. With a team of business development and robotics experts on hand to help, we are more than happy to share ours.
