Glasstec 2026: What We’re Going to Düsseldorf to See

Visitors on the show floor at Glasstec in Düsseldorf

Düsseldorf is a long way to go to look at machines. But every two years, Glasstec is where the glass industry shows what it has been building, and Glasstec 2026 runs from 20 to 23 October.

We’ll be on the floor for all four days. Here is what we’re going to see, and why it matters for glass processors in Australia and New Zealand.

Why we’re making the trip to Glasstec 2026

A spec sheet tells you what a machine is meant to do. Ten minutes watching it run tells you how it does it.

That is the first reason we go. The second is that the people who design the machines are standing next to them. The questions our customers ask us most are about energy costs, labour, and getting more through the same floor space. Glasstec is where we can put those questions to the engineers directly.

We did the same in 2024. You can read what we brought home in our Glasstec 2024 wrap.

CMS at Glasstec 2026: three machines running live

CMS will be in Hall 16, Stand A04, with three machines working on the stand.

Ypsos mk2: a vertical glass machining centre with two heads

The Ypsos mk2 is the next generation of the CMS Ypsos, a vertical glass machining centre for float and laminated glass. Two heads grind and polish at the same time, which CMS describes as a first for a vertical CNC.

It handles panels up to 6,000 x 3,300 mm, and it seams, grinds, mills and drills on the one machine. It can run stand-alone, in line, or within an insulating glass line.

For a processor short on floor space and operators, a vertical machine that does more in one handling step is worth a close look. You can compare it with the rest of our vertical CNC range for glass.

Aura: dry glass seaming with no water

The CMS Aura is a vertical seaming machine, and it works dry. There is no water in the process.

It measures each sheet as it arrives and adjusts to the thickness on its own, so an operator is not setting up every sheet. It runs monolithic, laminated and low-e glass, and it sits in line with a vertical washer or a double-glazing line.

Electa: a compact horizontal CNC

The CMS Electa is a compact horizontal CNC. On the stand it will be cutting glass wall clocks, which is a neat way of showing what a small-footprint machine can do with detailed work.

Bovone at Glasstec 2026: two glass laminating ovens

Bovone will also be in Hall 16, at Stand D29, showing its full laminating range. Two ovens sit at the centre of the stand.

HRC hybrid oven

The HRC is a glass laminating oven that combines radiant and convection heating. The two can run separately or together, so the cycle is matched to the glass and the film. The result is a shorter start-up and lower energy use.

EVATHERM

EVATHERM is a stand-alone oven for EVA lamination. It has two independent chambers that can run different cycles at the same time, and it takes sheets up to 3,200 x 2,200 mm, including curved glass.

Bovone has more than 100 complete laminating lines installed worldwide. If you’re weighing up laminating in-house, the choice often comes down to a complete line or a stand-alone oven to start with. Seeing both side by side is the quickest way to understand the difference.

Two more stands on our list: Techwin and Vincent

The machines on the CMS and Bovone stands are only part of a glass line. Techwin and Vincent look after the steps either side of them, and both are exhibiting at Glasstec 2026.

Techwin: our new vertical washer supplier (Hall 17, Stand A12-8)

Techwin is a new supplier for Innovync, and the Techwin team will be in Düsseldorf. Their vertical glass washing machine won’t be on display at the show, but it is the one we’re most excited about, and we’re already seeing strong demand for it.

The Techwin vertical glass washing machine cleans and dries glass standing upright, so it takes up far less floor space than a horizontal washer. Three models cover glass heights of 1,600, 2,000 and 2,500 mm, from 3 to 19 mm thick, and a soft brush pair looks after low-e coatings. Our team supplies, installs and services it in Australia.

Vincent diamond tooling for glass

Vincent has made diamond tools in Italy since 1974 and is part of Surfaces Group, which sells into more than 70 countries. You’ll find Vincent on the Surfaces Group (ADI) stand in Hall 16, Stand C38. Its glass range covers the whole edge:

  • STARFLEX PLUS grinding cups for flat edges, from 3 mm mirror to thick and laminated glass
  • SPIDER resin-bonded wheels for straight-line and double-edging machines, with through-channels that clear grinding residue
  • CERIUM cups for the final polishing steps
  • CNC wheels from 25 to 200 mm for horizontal and vertical CNC machines, plus V-shaped arris wheels for double glazing
  • REVERSE wheels for laminated glass in architectural and structural facades
  • Core drills, polishing wheels, elastic wheels for de-coating, and turbo saw blades for laminated glass in 300, 350 and 400 mm

You can see the range in our glass tooling category.

Connected machines and AI in glass processing

AI is one of the big themes of this year’s programme. The part we think matters most is less glamorous: getting machines to share data.

Most glass shops run machines from three or four different makers. Connected Machines, a special area in Hall 15, shows machines from different manufacturers talking to each other through one open standard.

For a mid-size shop, that could mean seeing where jobs are waiting, planning maintenance before a breakdown, and not re-keying the same job at every station. We want to know what is ready to use on an Australian shop floor now, and what is still a demo.

It follows on from the shifts we covered in glass manufacturing trends for 2025 and beyond.

Follow along from the show floor

We’ll be posting from Glasstec each day on LinkedIn, and we’ll update this article after the show with what we saw.

Glasstec 2026 FAQs

Glasstec 2026 runs from Tuesday 20 to Friday 23 October 2026 at Messe Düsseldorf in Germany. The show is open from 9am to 6pm each day.

Both are in Hall 16. CMS is at Stand A04 and Bovone is at Stand D29.

CMS has three machines running live: the new Ypsos mk2 vertical machining centre, the Aura dry seaming machine and the compact Electa horizontal CNC.

The Ypsos mk2 uses two heads to grind and polish at the same time. CMS describes this as a first for a vertical CNC. It handles panels up to 6,000 x 3,300 mm.

Techwin is in Hall 17, Stand A12-8, although its vertical glass washing machine won’t be on display. Vincent is in Hall 16, Stand C38, on the Surfaces Group (ADI) stand. Both ranges are available in Australia through Innovync.
